Poemsters,
One of the difficulties which I have experienced in Open Mic readings is that the audience can be rowdy and boisterous.
One way of beginning my five minutes on stage is to begin with a short poem which has a sense of humor.
The URL which I am posting here is for a poet who does this same thing on page.
He is Mr. Michael [Welch] from San Francisco.
Here is an example: < mikewelch.stumbleupon.com/review/13756083/ [mikewelch.stumbleupon.com/review/13756083/] >
Do you have similar material for opening your appearances? Do you have something humorous to open you chapbook?
What is the function of the humorous poem? Merely to delight?
Agape, kiitos, shalom, Xie Xie, salaam, ja namaste,
Don as "Tauno" |
